This Christmas is going to feel sad for me and my family. In November my grannie was diagnosed as being in the latter stages of ovarian cancer, and on 12th December she died in a hospice. I love her very much and will miss her a lot.
Every year I write a Christmas poem, and this year’s is for anyone else who is experiencing bereavement at the moment.

I’m so sorry for your loss Jonathan. Sending love and sympathy to you and your family.xx

Jonathan my condolences. As a person of faith who has visited Jesus’s garden you know where your grandmother is and you know that she is ever with you in your heart.
It’s hard for us who remain behind in our time-ridden lives to embrace the joy of our loved ones leaving us to be with Our Father.
As you say though Jesus is always with you to give you the solace you need at this time.
I do hope you have the chance to come to Wintershall again sometime. We just finished the Nativity and it will soon be time to start preparing for The Passion on Good Friday in Trafalgar Square. It is a truly remarkable experience to be in and to watch.
Have a blessed Christmas Jonathan and family.

Thankyou Jonathan for your special poem. May Jesus bless and comfort you and all your family in your sadness at your goodbye and your missing Grannie. My husband’s Mum died in October (at 97!), the last of our 4 parents gone Home to Jesus. Wonderful for them but we miss them…. I love the words and image at the end, of the cross above the crib, powerful, and I will remember that. Hope you have joy interweaved with your sadness. Helen in Wales X

so sorry to hear of your big loss, Jonathan. It is a beautiful and heartfelt poem that I’m sure your grannie is appreciating too. Your words resonate with an acknowledgment in my spirit this morning, that as I kneel before the manger, I am also kneeling before the cross and the throne of the King of Kings. Hope springs eternal. Bless you all this Christmas.
