Finding myself on the front page of not one but two newspapers was amazing! Enjoying media interest is one thing but changing the system for children like me is my purpose.

And now you made it into the Mirror: http://www.msn.com/en-gb/health/familyhealth/locked-in-boy-learns-to-speak-with-his-eyes-despite-doctors-diagnosing-profound-learning-difficulties/
Well done.
I hope that your story makes it to a university research team in the field of information technology, specifically in the use of eye tracking and human computer interaction. I can see potential for a system to be developed where you can look at a screen with the spelling boards on it and and eye tracker can automatically write out your posts for you.
Best of luck.

Hi Greg,
Thank you for your interest in Jonathan’s story. There are computers that can track the glint in your eye and that you can then use to select cells on a computer screen rather like you would use a mouse on a normal computer. We have trialled a number of these for Jonathan and for a variety of reasons they don’t work for him, but there are lots of children and adults for whom they do work.

The University of Dundee has a particular interest in augmentative and alternative communication; Prof Annalu Waller is the lead for this. She may be interested in further help for Jonathan and other children in with similar difficulties. http://aac.dundee.ac.uk/people/awaller/
